Art Contest Winner and Finalists Announced
Each year PWP partners with the Metropolitan Water District (MWD) to hold the "Water is Life" Art Contest. Pasadena students, from grades K-12, are all able to apply; artwork submissions were due in late June 2022. PWP selects one first-place winner, as well as numerous finalists whose artwork is all submitted to MWD for consideration in their annual Student Art Calendar.
First Place Winner
This year's first-place prize goes to incoming freshman Sebastian, of John Muir High School. Our judges loved the message of his artwork, "It takes a lot of BLUES to stay GREEN." Congratulations to Sebastian!
Finalists
An additional six finalists have been selected for the MWD final round of consideration. We're hopeful that our students' artwork will be represented in the 2023 Art Calendar! Stay tuned to find out which of these students will receive that honor.
Finalists from Left to Right: (First Row) Rhys of Sierra Madre Middle School, Keira of Precious Blood School, Karina of St. Andrew Catholic School. (Second Row) Jasmine of Octavia E. Butler Magnet School, Alannah of Chandler School, Sofia of John Muir High School.
