Glenarm Street Water Main Replacement Project

Glenarm Street Water Main Replacement Project

Pasadena Water and Power (PWP) is replacing approximately 1400 feet of the existing 12-inch cast iron water mainline and 8-inch cast iron water mainline, which are both over 100 years old, to continue to provide a reliable and high-quality water service with a 12-inch ductile iron mainline pipe.

To minimize the impact of this project on residents and businesses in the area, construction efforts will be contained to approximately one block at a time. Construction will intermittently affect water service, but notices of any water interruption will be provided at least 48 hours in advance; special efforts will be taken to minimize customer inconvenience. During construction, a variety of heavy equipment will be used including excavators, backhoes, loaders, and construction trucks.

Construction will take place on Glenarm Street between Arroyo Parkway and El Molino Avenue. Temporary traffic control and detour signs will be posted at all times during construction. Most work will occur Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Please note businesses in the area will remain open and accessible during construction.

During the phases of construction, travel lanes will be reduced, and left/right turns will be restricted at certain intersections. In addition, during certain phases of construction, the 110 Freeway on ramp and off ramp at Glenarm Street & Arroyo Parkway, will be closed. To expedite travel and access to the 110 FWY, please detour and use Fair Oaks Avenue, or Orange Grove Boulevard on ramps. To expedite east/west travel, please use California Boulevard, or Del Mar Boulevard. Please expect traffic delays during construction.

Pasadena Transit Route 20 will detour and use Raymond Avenue instead of Arroyo Parkway to avoid delays.

Timeline and Location

Construction will begin in June 2024, and PWP plans to complete the project by September 2024. The project affects Glenarm Street spanning from Arroyo Parkway to El Molino Avenue. Please reference the map below for the construction project location.
