Public Health Goals Report
As a community water system, PWP is required by the California Environmental Protection Agency to prepare a Public Health Goals (PHG) Report every three years.
The PHG Report shows the level of constituents present in treated water below which there is no known or expected risk to health. PHGs are not regulatory standards and often, it is not technologically or economically possible to remove or reduce constituents to the level of PHGs. The report also includes types of public health risks, treatment methods if available, and related estimated costs. The public must be given an opportunity to review and comment on the PHG Report, along with City Council acceptance.
The 2022 report was considered by the Municipal Services Committee on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, and is scheduled to be considered by City Council on Monday, December 5, 2022.
