Rain Barrel and Cistern Rebate

Rain barrels and cisterns are a simple way to capture rainwater and reuse it to water your landscape.
To date, 2,592 rain barrels have been distributed to Pasadena customers - that's over 8 million gallons of water that has been captured from flowing into the storm drains!
How to Qualify - Rain Barrel
- Before you purchase a rain barrel, please visit SoCal Water$mart for complete terms and conditions
- Your rain barrel must hold a minimum of 50 gallons of water, and must be designed for rain capture. Homemade rain barrels do not qualify
- When installing your rain barrel, please follow the installation guidelines outlined by SoCal Water$mart
- Save your receipt and supporting documents to show proof of purchase
How to Qualify - Cistern
- Cisterns between 200-500 gallons are eligible for up to $300 in rebates
- Cisterns between 501-999 gallons are eligible for up to $500 in rebates
- Cisterns 1000+ gallons are eligible for up to $600 in rebates
- Before you purchase a cistern, please visit SoCal Water$mart for complete terms and conditions
- Your cistern must hold a minimum of 200 gallons of water, and must be constructed of hard plastic. Homemade cisterns do not qualify
- When installing your cistern, please follow the installation guidelines outlined by SoCal Water$mart
- Save your receipt and supporting documents to show proof of purchase
How to Apply
- Apply for your rebate directly on the SoCal Water$mart website
- Select “Apply for Rebate”
- When prompted, upload a copy of your receipt and the required supporting documents
Terms
- Only residential PWP water customers are eligible
- A maximum of one rebate for up to two rain barrels is allowed per water service address
- A maximum of one cistern rebate is allowed per water service address
- Applicants may not submit a rebate claim for both rain barrels and cisterns
