Your Water and Power Rates

Pasadena Water and Power takes pride in providing safe, reliable, environmentally responsible water and power service at competitive rates. As a community-owned utility, PWP's first priority is to serve our customers.

PWP also offers a 100% Green Rate option. Visit the PWP Green Power website for more information.

Changes to Rates

PWP monitors and calculates the Power Cost Adjustment ("PCA") each month, and any adjustments from the resulting values are reflected on the following month's first day. PCA adjustments reflect energy market conditions and are consistent with the Power Rate Ordinance under Municipal Code Section 13.04.173.

The Distribution and Customer Charge is a flat fee on every bill that covers water distribution, billing metering, customer service and PWP’s call center. It is based on the size of your water meter and doesn’t change no matter how much water you use.

* This charge is for a 3/4″ Meter. The exact charges for all meter sizes are outlined in the City of Pasadena Water and Power Rate Card September 1, 2023

The Water Commodity Rate covers the cost of acquiring water. It is an inclining 4-block structure where the price per billing unit (100 cubic feet of water) increases in each block.
