SB 998 - The Water Shutoff Protection Act

SB 998 is a bill that went into effect February 1, 2020 that allows low-income water account customers to receive additional time to pay their utility bill and qualify for a reduced re-connection fee. This policy on Discontinuation of Residential Water Service for Non-Payment is set forth by PWP in accordance with the City of Pasadena Municipal Code, General Fee Schedule, and Pursuant to the Water Shut-Off Protection Act, Part 12, Chapter 6 of Division 104 of California Health and Safety Code.
