Remedy Decision Process for the Sunset Complex Wells
Pasadena Water and Power (PWP) and the City of Pasadena (City) are developing a potential remedy for water quality challenges associated with the Sunset Complex Wells. While all drinking water served by the City meets or exceeds applicable State and Federal drinking water requirements, the City is seeking to improve water supply reliability and water system resiliency by reducing reliance on imported water supplies. Substantial community outreach has been conducted dating back to 2022 relating to the broader Sunset Complex Project environmental evaluation under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).
The remedy development process includes preparing a Draft Remedial Investigation (RI), Draft Feasibility Study (FS), and Proposed Plan (PP), and PWP will be seeking community input on these documents.
