Urban Water Management Plan
Pasadena’s Urban Water Management Plan (UWMP) is prepared every five years in compliance with the Urban Water Management Planning Act, California Water Code Sections 10610 through 10656.
2020 Urban Water Management Plan
The 2020 Urban Water Management Plan (UWMP) is an analysis of long-term water supply and demand planning for PWP, and includes a water system description, population and socioeconomic statistics, water supply reliability, drought risk assessment, demand management measures, and climate change impacts. Additionally, the UWMP has an important component, specifically the Water Shortage Contingency Plan (“WSCP”) in Chapter 8, which requires City Council approval as it offers a detailed proposal for how PWP intends to operate if water shortage conditions are declared..
The Pasadena City Council adopted the document on June 7, 2021. Public involvement and comment were encouraged. California law specifically requires the water agency to submit or post on the web for public viewing a copy of the adopted UWMP no later than 30 days after adoption. This copy may be in an electronic format.
